How to use these benchmarks
These figures reflect the actual distribution of NYC funding rounds tracked in the AlleyWatch dataset. Use them as a starting point for fundraising conversations — not as a ceiling or floor.
The median is more useful than the average because it excludes the influence of outlier mega-rounds. Half of rounds at each stage are above the median shown, half are below.
Sector medians are based on the last 3 years to reflect current market conditions. Overall stage benchmarks cover all rounds since 2010.
